Formerly a founding partner of Burdine Wynne, LLP, Scott Burdine is Of-Counsel to the successor firm, Wynne Law PLLC. Scott has devoted his career over the past 36 years to handling and trying complex and high stakes business litigation and arbitration matters for both plaintiffs and defendants. He is board-certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction held by a small percentage of Texas trial attorneys. He has also been selected as a “Super Lawyer” by the Thomson Reuters rating service in each year since 2005, and he has also been designated as a Houston Top Lawyer by H-Texas magazine. Scott has obtained multi-million dollar recoveries for clients and has successfully defended both companies and individuals.
Scott began his law practice at a large international law firm in Houston, where he worked on a variety of business transactions in the firm’s business/real estate/energy group before shifting his practice to trial law. His experience as a transactional attorney gives him a unique perspective that benefits his litigation practice.
Scott is licensed to practice law in Texas state courts, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has served as Treasurer of the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists and is a Fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation. He has also served on the Professionalism Committee of the Houston Bar Association and has spoken in the past on the topics of legal ethics and legal malpractice prevention. Scott is has been President of the University of Texas Law Alumni Association and is currently a member of the University of Texas Development Board and the Longhorn Foundation Advisory Council.
